Standing Cloud News
It’s that time again.
Boulder is usually beautiful in the spring. But this year, like the rest of the country it seems, we've had a very confusing few months. One day it’s 80 degrees and sunny; the next morning we all wake up to eight inches of snow. (Believe me, scraping snow off our cars is not a fun way to start the morning in early May). But have no fear! We are persevering, and in the absence of great weather, we're doing great work at Standing Cloud.
Bringing web-based document management to the cloud
At Standing Cloud, we’ve had a lot of success recently with our hosted cloud solutions for ISVs, particularly with open source enterprise solutions for collaboration, content management, publishing and portals.
Application Updates, 2013 Style
I recently wrote about the updates we've made to the Standing Cloud console over the last few iterations. But there's more to our service than just fancy features. The meat and potatoes, heart and soul, bread and butter and (insert gratuitous analogy here) of our service is the 100+ commercial and open source applications we keep updated in our catalog.
Back after a brief hiatus
Standing Cloud is always evolving. I suppose most companies can make this claim, but I'm consistently impressed when I see the work dev team is completing on a daily, weekly & monthly basis. There are always new features in the works, updated applications and versions, and the backlog of changes and improvements we’d love to make is extensive. That is all to say, the ideas are flowing over here, and the last few months have been exciting!

We're only a few weeks into 2013, and already things have been fast and furious at Standing Cloud. ICYMI, we've had a flurry of activity and announcements with an exciting group of new ISV partners. While each implementation is different, and customized to meet the needs of our partners, what they all share is the choice, flexibility and easy point-and-click deployment and management enabled by the Standing Cloud platform, delivering software, hosting, provisioning, deployment and management to their customers at a simple monthly bundled price.
Back in April, Dave Jilk, our CEO, wrote a blog post about the intelligent, reliable, consistently-going-above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty team that we have here at Standing Cloud. I started working here just over a year ago, and I’m also repeatedly impressed with our team and the quality of our service. Monday, when Amazon Web Services’ EC2 servers went down on the East Coast, I had one more reason to be proud.
Get ready, because we're putting Liferay in the cloud.

Since our launch in 2009, we've been strong supporters of open source software and the open source community. Our application catalog includes more than 100 open-source applications; plus we support multiple development languages – including Rails, PHP, Java and Python – and manage applications portably on several distributions of Linux.
