@VanessaAlvarez1 (Vanessa Alvarez) tweeted: "Oh well, my arm got tired from waiting for a mike, so let me ask, what's #HP plans for public cloud? How do u compete w/#AWS announcement?"

This month, we bring you an iteration code-named "Grampa Simpson." He's a fellow who's clearly been around a long time. Though this iteration hasn't been around a long time (our development cycles are only 12 days long!), the list of features in it is long for sure! So without further ado:

Standing Cloud represented at DrupalCon this year with Joni Klippert, head of customer development and Amy Seals, UI architect, on the scene. Here's what went down:

Acquia's new DevCloud product: This is Acquia's single-server offering, featuring a three-tiered development platform (test, staging and production) and drag and drop capabilities. Command line version is coming soon. It'll migrate your site from Drupal Gardens, or let you pick your own distribution. This offering is primarily geared toward developers, and the company "pledges" to "NOT let you fail."

@joeweinman (Joe Weinman) tweeted: "@Werner closes his keynote with "It is still Day 1 in #cloud", i.e., much more innovation and transformation to come #ccevent"

If you haven't seen it yet, WordPress 3.1 is pretty cool. It starts with an admin bar at the top of your site so you always have easy and direct access to your dashboard. Additional features include:

  • Redesigned linking workflow, making it easier to link existing posts and pages, especially useful for publishers of large sites digging through to find past posts to link to
  • Streamlined writing interface that hides many of the seldom-used panels by default for a cleaner experience

@reillyusa (Christian Reilly) tweeted: "Anything that makes app deployment an art instead of a science is a good thing."

One key to our service is the breadth of cloud hosts we support, and this week we add a new one: Linode. But that's not all -— Fat Tony also offers you the following features, which you cannot refuse:

  • Users may now host applications on Linode. We've added Linode to the bevy of clouds upon which users can host their applications.

Cloud Tweets

@InFullBloomUS (Naomi Bloom) tweeted: "HRM software vendor selections are the start of very long-term relationships, even with true SaaS, because self-service is very sticky."

Cloud Tweets

@bernardgolden (Bernard Golden) tweeted: "#aws to open 240K sf data center in Ireland? That's big! #cloudcomputinghttp://ow.ly/3VC7s"

Standing Cloud has a lot more to offer than most shared hosting companies. Watch to see how we stack up to the competition.
