Standing Cloud, Inc. announced today that it is now accepting Beta signups for a free and simple service for trying out open source web applications. Initially supported applications include Wordpress, Drupal, Mantis, and SugarCRM, with new options being added regularly.
Standing Cloud uses on-demand cloud servers from Amazon Web Services, Slicehost, and GoGrid to provide this service. Application software is installed automatically and any data users enter can be saved and restored as desired. A simple point-and-click interface makes software tryouts quick and painless, and because they are provided in the cloud a distributed user base can participate in the trial.
