Ahead in the Cloud: 10 SaaS Delivery Companies to Watch

11 Jun

As part of a special report on Enterprise Cloud Services, Network World reporter Christine Burns recently took a in-depth look at the future of Software as a Service (SaaS), and what it will take (including integration, customization and brokerage capabilities) to get SaaS to the next level. The article is based largely on a recent report from Gartner Research, Cool Vendors in Cloud Service Brokerage Enablers, which included a write-up on Standing Cloud. (In case you missed it, you can download the full report here).

Her conclusion, after interviewing vendors, analysts and industry watchers, is that the next frontier for SaaS will be the development of distribution channels designed specifically for the cloud, and providing meaningful mechanisms for managing multiple SaaS offerings from a single control point. She believes that these advancements will likely come from a variety of sources: established SaaS vendors, startups providing SaaS channel enabling software, and cloud service brokerage houses. It's a good read, and worth checking out the full article.

To go along with the piece, Network World also singled out 10 SaaS Delivery Companies to Watch, and we're excited to have made the list, alongside such industry leaders as Salesforce.com, Ingram Micro, Parallels, NetSuite and others.

And if you thought just being on the list was cool, take a look at the awesome graphic that went with it! Gotta love it!
