Our latest feature release focuses heavily on giving you more options for test driving and hosting applications in the cloud. We've code-named this iteration "Itchy," that Simpsons trouble-maker, as a lively mascot for the iteration's other name, "#42," which, of course, is the answer to the universe.
Standing Cloud now offers application test drives and hosting on the following clouds. (You can find pricing details for hosting on our Pricing page.)
Atlantic.Net - This infrastructure as a service company has been around since 1994, offering a range of hosting solutions, from web hosting to the Cloud. The company is listed on the Inc. 500 and supports clients of all sizes.
OpSource Cloud - OpSource is another world-class provider (listed here second as an alphabetical ordering) that is built on VMware’s vSphere 4.0 Hypervisor, and infrastructure from infrastructure from Cisco, EMC and Dell.
PeakColo - We are also expanding our offering on the PeakColo cloud. We previously announced the ability to test drive applications there. We hope you had a chance to do so and are now ready to host your application on PeakColo, because so are we. They're now listed as an option when you host applications with Standing Cloud.
Test drives have also been improved. You can still test drive applications as long as you like, but after a period of inactivity, we'll save any data you may have created and shut down the application. That "period of inactivity" used to be 30 minutes, but we've extended it to 50, based on customer feedback. (Note that if we do save and shut down your application, you can always resume your test drive at any time by clicking "Restore Application". )
As always, if there are other features you'd like to see us build or other clouds or applications you'd like us to support, don't hesitate to contact us. We hope you enjoy these new clouds and take an app for a test drive if you haven't already!
****Update - 4/1/13 We have recently changed the test drive time out to 3 hours*****
