New Features: More Multi-App Support, More Bandwidth & Pricing Options, More Data Centers

21 Jun

This update, code-named Lunch Lady Doris, is the update of "more"! More of what makes Standing Cloud the best option for deploying and managing applications in the cloud: more support for multi-app hosting; more data centers, and more, um, better pricing. (Forgive the poor English. We were desperately trying to keep with the "more" theme.) Here are the details:

More multi-app support
You can now install any of the following applications with each other, in any combination: Drupal, Joomla, Mambo, OpenVBX, Mantis, MediaWiki, osCommerce, phpBB3, Vanilla, SugarCRM, Magento, vTiger, and WordPress. (Any of these applications can also be installed with PHPMyAdmin.)

(More) Better pricing for users who host on their own credentials
Have your own cloud account? Enjoy discounted pricing and no bandwidth charges! We'll have the new pricing up on our website shortly, but in the interim, you can see these new prices as you go through the steps to install your application.

More detailed pricing
We'd realized that bundling bandwidth charges into our hosting prices was making them artificially high. To give you better, more detailed pricing, we've split bandwidth charges out and given you the choice to only pay for the bandwidth you think you'll need. (They're soft limits; if we see that you're going over, we'll reach out to you.) Bandwidth is offered in "bundles" of: Up to 1 GB (free) - this is the default; Up to 3 GB, Up to 10 GB, Up to 30 GB, Up to 100 GB, Up to 300 GB, and Up to 1000 GB. (If your application requires more than that, please contact us.) Bandwidth pricing varies by cloud provider and, for some providers, also by server size.

More data centers
You can now test drive and host applications in SoftLayer's San Jose data center!

What more could you want? (Feel free to tell us on our forum!)
