7 May
May's a busy month here at Standing Cloud, as we get ready to hit the road and take the stage at two key upcoming conferences, CMSExpo and GlueCon.
Kicking off this week in Chicago (May 8th, 9th and 10th), CMSExpo showcases many of the world's leading Content Management Systems and the people who power them, including web business leaders and the whole Content Team: marketers, designers, writers, developers and admins. Small but mighty and now in its sixth year, CMS Expo 2012 features 90-plus highly targeted sessions in 7 tracks, with 50-plus speakers, focused on delivering reliable, relevant, actionable advice.
This year, we're excited to be a sponsor, exhibitor (swing by and see us at Booth #DD), presenter and panelist. On Wednesday morning, Joni Klippert, our director of customer development, headlines the solo session Kick-aaS Options for Deploying Drupal in the Cloud, and in the afternoon will be a featured panelist on Drupal in the Cloud with Diamonds, moderated by CMS Report's Bryan Ruby, along with representatives from Acquia and Phase 2 Technology.
In other activities, Mike Ficco, our VP Biz Dev, will be on hand meeting with application providers, demoing our recently launched Application Marketplace, and talking up our cloud-based distribution opportunities for ISVs. So if you're blowing in the Windy City for CMS Expo, keep an eye out for Joni and Mike. Stop by, say "hi" and find out what Standing Cloud can do for you!
For the second straight year, we'll also be participating at GlueCon as a sponsor, exhibitor and speaker.
Glue (May 23rd and 24th) is the only conference devoted solely to solving the web application integration problem-set. Attendees include the architects, developers, administrators and integrators that have moved past the initial step of seeing the web as a platform, and are facing the real-world challenges of what "stove-piped" web applications mean for their overall strategy. Glue is about all of bits and pieces, APIs and meta-data, standards and connectors that will help us to glue together the varying applications of the new platform. And it's perfect for Standing Cloud (and not just because its down the road from our Boulder, HQ in nearby Broomfield, CO).
We're particularly excited because our CEO, Dave Jilk, is a featured keynote on Wednesday afternoon. He'll be taking on the debate over Virtual Images vs. Model-Driven Deployment, something he's addressed a length in this recent Standing Cloud white paper and in the media with this article in Virtualization Journal.
