Last week, we announced our support for OpenStack, an open source cloud operating system that powers a growing number of cloud infrastructure services, in public and private cloud computing environments. You can read the full announcement here.
Yesterday, in his coverage of the news, industry analyst Phil Shih of Structure Research had this to say about the announcement:
"The move is about Standing Cloud maintaining an agnostic approach and supporting as many cloud platforms as possible in order to extend its reach. Supporting OpenStack is a logical choice given that it powers a growing numbers of clouds, such as those from HP, Internap and Rackspace. That number will continue to grow and Standing Cloud confirmed it was working with providers that are set to roll out OpenStack-based clouds. Standing Cloud represents a somewhat subtle but clearly important piece of value-add that facilitates cloud adoption by taking away some of the complexity involved with configuring and installing applications in the cloud."
